LSU students will be required to get at least the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, or fill out an exemption waiver, by Sept. 10, LSU President William Tate announced Tuesday.

We’re excited to be able to offer the in-person experience we know you’ve been hoping for this semester,” Tate said in a letter to LSU students. “Things may still look a little different, but we’ll be able to spend time together, form friendships, participate in campus life, and, most importantly, maintain the outstanding LSU educational experience.

Faculty and staff must submit vaccination proof or an exemption waiver by Sept. 7.

Fans 12 years and older looking to attend games at Tiger Stadium will also have to provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test taken within three days of entry.

LSU students can get their COVID-19 shot on campus at several locations.

“As an epidemiologist, I know that vaccination is the way out of this pandemic, and I’m grateful to everyone who has already been vaccinated for helping us move in that direction,” Tate said.
