Chris Dier is a teacher, author and PhD student in New Orleans. He is the 2020 Louisiana Teacher of the Year and a 2020 National Teacher of the Year Finalist. Dier also authored "The 1868 St. Bernard Parish Massacre" and has been featured in the New York Times, Washington Post, Politico, The Today Show, NPR, CBC, CBS and CNN.
A bill proposed in Louisiana and similar legislation in other states seek to make a teacher’s job more challenging in an already overburdened profession while putting the lives of transgender students in peril.
